Cenegenics Medical Institute in Las Vegas-proceed with caution

webpicture23Another day, another scam. It is a shame that we are so consumed with shortcuts to wellness that many will fall for anything. The link below is from an MSNBC article about the Cenegenics Medical Institute in Las Vegas. Didn’t Michael Corleone warn us about Vegas? Take a look at the photo of someone named Dr. Jeffery Life. He’s 67 and my guess is that it’s a photo shopped body he’s wearing. Not only that, this photo has been floating around magazines and the internet for at least 10 years. I’ve seen it on so many different ads. Maybe MSNBC should track down Dr. Life and ask him to remove his shirt for the camera. Adding to the problem- take a look at the small ads to the right of the photo. Many of them are links to the Acai Berry scam.

There is no secret formula, no magic pill, no miracle berry. And cosmetic surgery? Has anyone walked around the Upper East Side of Manhattan lately? Women there look like a cross between Planet of the Apes and Rocky Raccoon. So do some of the men.

Eat fresh, local and organic.

Exercise intensely.

THERE IS NO OTHER WAY!!!!!

The photos you see of Dr. Jeff Life are NOT photo-shopped. That’s really him. Dr. Life competed in the 1998 Body-for-Life bodybuilding contest, and he was the Grand Champion. You can see his pictures here: So where’s the scam? Simple. He got that body by using the Body-for-Life program of hard work and dieting –– he did NOT get that body from Cenegenics –– as what is INFERRED in the Cenegenics advertisements.

    • Hey Sin City Harley,
So at the VERY least, the photos are 10 years old. But I’m still skeptical because I train elite athletes and in over 20 years, I’ve yet to see a body like that on a 58 year old. Also, I took part in the same program, using the Body For Life supplements, doing the workout exactly as planned out. I was 34 at the time and I did NOT look like Jeffery Life. Eat healthy in the Sin City. Eat Local. Exercise Intensely.

  • I am so glad somebody said something about this guy. I remember about 10 years ago when he supposedly was a winner in the Body for Life Challenge. And now he is claiming his body is a result of Cenegenics for 2 years. Bull!

  • Hey Jackie,
This industry is ripe for scammers so I work hard to stay on top of them and give them no room to breathe! Thanks for the note.

  • As an ex-classical dancer (for 15 yrs long ago) and who has had many medical problems since I contacted cenegenics in Las Vegas and spent a fourtune I didn’t have to see if I could get my challenges under control.

They did a great sales job on the first call, I went in signed up and than they asked me for more money they omitted this bit of information on the first call. I felt maybe there would be hope in figuring out how to get my medical situation in control so I went for it. I had the barrery of testing and had a good visit with the Dr. saying they would be with me monitor me keeps tabs on me and get me back on track.

I went out the door and that was that. No monitoring I asked for suggestions on breakfast and my answer was well what are you eatting….I knew what I was eatting I wanted alternatives, they wee not helpful.

The only time I heard from they was when I was scheduled to get more vitamins ($500) worth per month or more testing, another fee.

With all that I went on a very restrictive diet for a solid 6 weeks and while my blood sugars did go down I had not lost 1 lb.

Words can’t describe how disheartened I was. With repeated calls maybe 3 no satisfatction, and emails unreturned I had had it.

Finally I received a call saying they were switching me to another Dr. at supposedly no extra fees. (but I knew that would be short lived)

Have decided to take another course of action. Have contacted them for some sort of refund , and they said nothing would be due.

I spent over $5000. on (1) dr visit, 2 months of vitamins, and bloodtesting. A total at the high end of $2000.

I do not recommend they AT ALL, and worn people who decide to take this course.

As they will come back to ….”well the contract says…..”

Should have been concerned when the contract had to be signed to begin with.

    Hope this helps someone else.

  • I’ve had the hard cell from Cenegenics too, I’m glad I read this before I even thought about spending a dime there. Thanks!
